Without installing the Zotero software, you can save items to your Zotero library on the Zotero servers using mobile devices as well as browsers not supported by the Zotero software, e.g., Internet Explorer.

Items saved using the Zotero Bookmarklet are not placed in any specific collection, but rather are placed into your Zotero online Library. You can find the items you just added with the Bookmarklet by clicking on the column header Date Modified. The newest items will appear at the top.
You can move individual items to another collection by clicking in the check box to the left of the titles of those items and then clicking the Add to Collection icon that appears above the titles. Then select the Collection you want to add the items to and click the Add button.
