Library Services for Off-campus and Online Users

Searching the EMU Library's Resources

Although you may be geographically separated from the library, you still have access to the library's resources and the expertise of the library's many subject specialists. Research guides, designed to assist you with in-depth research pertaining to a given subject or course, will assist you in choosing what resources should be consulted. See for a complete listing. Do you know of an area that could use a guide? We enjoy feedback; contact your subject specialist and let them know.

General Resources

  • The Library Catalog allows you to search the library's collection of books, videos, course reserves, and more.
  • Can't find what you're looking for at the EMU Library? Would you rather have materials delivered directly to your public library (within the State of Michigan--restrictions apply)? Search MeLCat, the Michigan eLibrary Catalog. See the "MeLCat" box under the "Getting Books & Articles" tab for more information.

Help with online access problems

To use library online resources and databases from home

  • Use links on EMU library web site or guides. Going directly to journal or database websites will not usually work.
  • Enter your EMU netID login and password.

Other access problems?

Not a current EMU Student?

  • Use MeL Databases. These databases can be used by Michigan residents.
