Search the Library Catalog

Finding Books - Keyword Searches

Try searching the Library catalog by keywords.

1). Start at the Library catalog's "Advanced Search"  screen.

(From the Library homepage, click on the "Books" tab, and then the "Find Books and More in the Library Catalog" link. A tab for "Advanced Search will be available.)

2). Combine up to three words or terms that describe your topic. Make sure each term or phrase is in a separate box.

Examples:

People:  "Salvador Allende"   women   Incas   "Toussaint L'Ouverture"

Places:  "Port Royal"   Brazil    Carribbean   "Andes Mountains"

Movements:  "agrarian transformation" "coffee trade" "revolutions" "communism"
           

3). Keep the type of search "Keyword" in each line.

4). Click the search button.

Browsing Book in the Library

Browse the shelves on the Library’s third level to find hard copies of books.

  • F1201-3799 Latin America. Spanish America
  • F1201-1392 Mexico
  • F1421-1440 Central America
  • F1751-1854.9 Cuba
  • F2155-2191 Caribbean area. Caribbean Sea
  • F2201-3799 South America
  • F2201-2239 General
