Michigan Test for Teacher Certification (MTTC) Info

From the Michigan Department of Education:
"As of October 1, 2017, the Professional Readiness Examination (PRE) will no longer be recognized as an option for fulfilling the basic skills requirement for student teaching in Michigan. The final administration of the PRE will be on September 23, 2017 via computer-based testing. If you plan to take the PRE, you must register no later than September 21, 2017 and schedule an appointment for no later than September 23, 2017.”  The SAT is already being accepted in place of the PRE.

Free Online Practice Tests

Using practice tests for the PRAXIS is a great way to prepare for the MTTC test.  More than 30 states require aspiring teachers to pass the Praxis I – Pre-Professional Skills Test (PPST) as part of their teacher certification process. These materials can help you prepare for the MTTC.

The first time you use LearningExpress, you will need to create an account. This just means that you provide information--it won't cost anything. The registration will give you a login for later use.  Sometimes you will have a double login process 1) login with EMU NetID from off campus 2) register or login with LearningExpress.

Note: The LearningExpress database is difficult to find your way in! The links below are designed to take you right to the specific tests--however, this doesn't always work: sometimes after you login it takes you to the main page of the database. If this happens, try clicking the link a second time.

Other State Tests

LearningExpress also has online practice tests for teacher exams in other states.
