Shakespeare

Finding Books

You will find hundreds of items in our catalog dealing with Shakespeare (books, videos, DVDs) and you can search our online catalog at https://emich.summon.serialssolutions.com/#!/advanced. To limit to just items in our library (or that our library owns) click the box next to "Items in the Library Catalog" box under the "Show Only" options. You can also limit to specific content type (such as "Book/eBook").

One simple way to find what we have is to do a Subject search for Shakespeare, William.

Using the additional search boxes allows you to focus your search further. Some other subjects that you could search along with Shakespeare, William include:

Adaptations, Biography, Characters, Comedies, Criticism, Interpretation, Dramatic Production, Film and Video Adaptations, Hamlet (or other play), Histories, Language, Musical Settings, Philosophy, Religion, Sources, Stage History, or Tragedies.

Sometimes all circulating items on your topic have been checked out. When this happens there is always the option of Interlibrary Loan (https://www.emich.edu/library/services/get_other_libraries.php).

Google Books

GoogleBooks can be used to search the content of many books.

Some books are available in full text; many are not full text in GoogleBooks -- but might be found in the library catalog or obtained via interlibrary loan.
