Finding Articles Using Esearch

ERIC/PsycINFO basics

Note: This video demonstrates a search using the ProQuest database ERIC, but the search functions are the same in PsycINFO and other ProQuest databases:

Using the ERIC Thesaurus

If you want to search for Subject words to use in your ERIC search, open a new tab on your browser and go to the ERIC Thesaurus on the ERIC.ed.gov site. You can then copy Subject terms to the ProQuest ERIC database to create searches. The thesaurus works better on the ERIC.ed.gov site, but ProQuest ERIC has more features and more full text.
Lucky us - we can use both!

Using the Thesaurus in PsycINFO

This video demonstrates how (and why) to use the thesaurus tool to find subject terms to improve your searching of PsycINFO.
