The Web Application Security Consortium (WASC) is an international group of experts, industry practitioners, and organizational representatives who produce open source and widely agreed upon best-practice security standards for the World Wide Web.

The Office of Cyberinfrastructure coordinates and supports the acquisition, development and provision of state-of-the-art cyberinfrastructure resources, tools and services essential to the conduct of 21st century science and engineering research and education.

Advancing consumer protection laws, the FTC is an excellent resource concerning information assurance related issues. It provides content relevant to both consumers and businesses. The above link connects you with the FTC home page; deeper exploration of its site can prove rewarding.

US-CERT, which is part of the Department of Homeland Security, protects the Internet infrastructure in the United States and provides information on current computer security risks and malicious activities. It maintains a national cyber alert system and provides guidelines and recommendations for secure computing practices.
