Pew Research Center is a nonpartisan organization that informs the public about the issues, attitudes and trends shaping America and the world. Pew provides statistics about social media usage, behavior and attitudes.

Nielsen provides summary data on social media usage and behavior.

Facebook offers a business suite for creating ads. You must pay to post an ad, but you can test it out for free. Log in to your Facebook account, and create an ad (link above). You can see the targeting choices.

You can use the Audience Insights feature to see your target market by age, gender, location, residence information, lifestyle segmentation, household, spending habits, and liked pages.

Think with Google provide some insights about what people are searching for. Google Trends allows you to put in a topic and see whether more or less searching has occurred in the topic in a certain region and related topics. The Consumer Barometer shows how people have used the internet and by which device.
