Academic articles can be found in scholarly databases. These are databases that contain collections of articles from peer-reviewed journals. Different databases contain different collections of journals and thus different articles. Some databases, such as ESearch and Google Scholar, have broad, multidisciplinary collections. Other databases, such as ACS Journals and Scifinder, are highly specific to chemistry topics. It is usually a good idea to try out your search in more than one database.
