Introducing OverDrive on Libby

EMU Library is testing out offering trial access to popular audiobooks, ebooks, and magazines through OverDrive for Michigan Academics, on the Libby app! You can take a look at what we have available at libbyapp.com/library/omia.

How to Get Started

  1. Download the free Libby app for iOS or Android from your mobile device's app store, or visit libbyapp.com on your computer's web browser.
     
  2. Follow the prompts to find a library and search for "Eastern Michigan University."
     
  3. Select the option that says "OverDrive for Michigan Academics" at Eastern Michigan University, and then select Eastern Michigan University as the location where you want to use your card.

  4. Sign in using the ID number from your EagleOne card as the library card.
     

How to Borrow Items

You can take a look at the full list of materials EMU offers on Libby's OverDrive at libbyapp.com/library/omia. Here's how to borrow materials:

  1. Go to the Search screen by selecting the magnifying glass icon.
     
  2. Search for a specific item using the search bar, or browse for certain types of items (like audiobooks) using the filter options. Selecting "More" opens up additional search options, like browsing for books by subject.
     
  3. Find an item you're interested in, then select "Borrow."

If your device is connected to Wi-Fi, the item will download to your device so you can access it offline.

Browsing in Libby

It's easy to search for items by title, format, subject, intended audience, availability, and more.

When you find something, just select "Borrow" to get it:

Your Shelf

Access your shelf with the icon that looks like a stack of books. From you shelf, you can open the items you've borrowed, and also renew or return them.
