Researcher Profiles

A quick overview of tools for creating and maintaining researcher profiles.

About Web of Science Researcher Profiles

A Web of Science Researcher Profile (ResearcherID) is a handy way to gather your research outputs, citation metrics, and even your editorial or peer review activities in one place.

With a unique profile, you can easily resolve author name confusion, claim your publications, and link your profile with other tools like ORCID for even greater visibility.

Setting Up Your Web of Science Researcher Profile

  1. Register or sign in. Go to the Web of Science registration page and use your EMU email address. If you already have access through Web of Science or EndNote Online, sign in and start your profile by clicking Profile → “CREATE” in the side menu.
  2. Automatic publication search. Web of Science will search for publications that match your name or email and add them to your profile.
  3. Manual publication entry. To add more publications, sign in and open your Researcher Profile (from the profile icon or “View my researcher profile” at the bottom of your dashboard). In the Documents tab, choose “+ Manage” → “+ Add publications,” then pick an option: "Enter a previously used email," "Add a DOI," "Upload a file (RIS, BibTeX, or CSV — you can export these from EndNote Desktop)," and "Sync with ORCID." For details, see Clarivate’s help page.
  4. Edit your profile. Update your listed names, organization, peer review preferences, and sync settings in your profile settings.
