Search for Chemical Identifier

Chemical identifiers are sequences of letters or numbers that are unique to specific compounds. Common chemical identifiers include: 

  • CAS RN* (Chemical Abstract Service Registry Number -- Also known as CAS-RN, or Registry Number)  
    *Most common
  • International Chemical Identifier (InChID) - Pronounced "en-chee." More information about it here
  • Unique Ingredient Identifier (UNII)

To locate an identifier conduct a search for the compound in PubChem.
