Getting In-Person Help from a Librarian

You can refer students to a librarian for help in person by sending them to the  Academic Projects Center (APC)  where we offer one-on-one, drop-in help with research and technology. There is always a librarian scheduled to provide assistance in the APC when it is open.

Location: Room 116, 1st floor EMU Library

Hours: Mondays - Thursdays, 10am - 5pm
see hours for exceptions

Ask a Librarian Chat

Students can get help from a librarian online by using our 24/7 Ask a Librarian chat service. The service is staffed collaboratively, so a student may get a librarian from EMU, or they may get a librarian from another academic institution. If the librarian answering the question cannot fully help or resolve the problem, they will mark the question for follow up by an EMU Librarian.

Helping Students Make Appointments With Librarians

Most librarians have a link to their online appointment scheduler within the profile box in their research guides. Another way to connect a student with a librarian to make an appointment is to use the list of Subject Specialist Librarians.

If a librarian does not have an active appointment scheduler, they can be contacted via email or phone.
