Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5-TR)

The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders is developed by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) to provide standard criteria for diagnosing mental disorders. The most recent edition is the Text Revision of the fifth edition (DSM-5-TR). Follow this link for an electronic version of the DSM-5-TR.

Additionally, you can borrow a print copy for two hours at a time from the library's front desk:

October 2022 Update: The APA updated how the DSM-5-TR describes neurocognitive disorders. The Neurocognitive Disorder Supplement (available at the link) aligns the DSM-5-TR with the latest research and clinical practices for these disorders. This update is especially important for neurology and mental health care for elderly people.

Our electronic version of the DSM-5-TR includes this update, but our print copy does not.

You can also access an electronic copy of the previous edition, the DSM-5, which was published in 2013. Many changes were made to this edition to create the DSM-5-TR; you can learn about these changes in these fact sheets from the APA.
