The simplest method for finding stable links for library ebooks, or print books, is to use Esearch, which provides a permanent link that you can copy and reuse.
1. Search for the book in Esearch. Or use the ebook search to limit your results to ebooks.
2. Select the Permanent Link next to the book title in the search results, and copy the URL:
Methods for linking directly to an ebook will vary for the different ebook vendors. Copying the URL at the top of the browser window will not usually work as a link to be used later. See options below for different vendors.

You can get stable links for the initial book page or individual chapters in Books24x7 IT Pro. Look for the yellow envelope icon (Share a link) in a top bar on the page. This link is already set for access from off campus (EMU Proxy.)
Caution: Books24x7 IT Pro is a subscription service. The EMU Library does not have perpetual access rights these ebooks. It doesn't happen often, but specific titles can be removed from Books24x7 IT Pro.
A stable direct link for an ebook from EBSCOhost can be found on the initial page for the ebook. Look in the Tools on the right hand side for Permalink. This link is already set for access from off campus (EMU Proxy.)
JSTOR provides a Stable URL at the top of the table of contents page. Use the EMU Proxy Link Generator on the first page of this guide to create a stable link that will work from off campus.

The initial page of the Wiley ebook lists a direct object indentifier (doi). You can use the doi to create a stable direct link to the book. See the Using DOIs page of this guide.
