Publishing Agreements

The EMU Library has a Read-and-Publish agreement with the American Chemical Society (ACS) in effect through 2026. This agreement enables EMU corresponding authors to publish open access research articles in most ACS hybrid and gold open access journals without paying article processing charges (APCs).

**Key Points:**

• The corresponding author must be affiliated with Eastern Michigan University to qualify for an APC waiver.
• During the ACS journal publishing agreement process, authors must select EMU from the drop-down affiliation list. Typed-in affiliations will not be recognized.
• Articles published under this agreement will automatically receive a Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 license.
