Publishing Agreements

This guide helps EMU authors understand and use transformative publishing agreements that allow them to publish open access in eligible journals at no cost.

Oxford University Press Agreement

EMU Library has a three-year read-and-publish agreement with Oxford University Press (OUP), covering 2025–2027. Under this agreement, EMU corresponding authors can publish research articles, review articles, case reports, and brief reports open access in most OUP hybrid and gold open access journals without paying article processing charges (APCs).

Key Points

  • The corresponding author must be affiliated with Eastern Michigan University to qualify for APC waivers.
  • Eligible article types include research articles, review articles, case reports, and brief reports published in standard journal issues. Articles in journal supplements and book reviews are not covered.
  • Use your @emich.edu email address when submitting to verify your institutional affiliation.
