Use this source when a visual representation of U.S. demographics would be useful.

U.S. Census Bureau statistics on topics such as population projections, children, computer ownership and use, disability, grandparents, health insurance, language use, school costs, working at home, and numerous other population characteristics.

"The project conducts public opinion surveys that aim to illuminate Latino views on a range of social matters and public policy issues, including its annual National Survey of Latinos. It also publishes demographic studies and other social science research on a wide range of topics, including economics and personal finances, Hispanic/Latino identity, education, health care, immigration trends, the Latino vote, technology adoption, youth and work and employment. The project is well-known for its estimates of the unauthorized immigrant population in the U.S."

Studies behaviors and attitudes of Americans in key realms of their lives, including family, community, health, finance, work and leisure. The project explores these topics by combining original public opinion survey research with social, economic and demographic data analysis.

The Southeast Michigan Council of Governments provides detailed population and land use statistics for communities in southeast Michigan. Population statistics include monthly population estimates, employment change by community, long-range regional forecasts, and more. Land use statistics include reports on residential construction, nonresidential development, and manufactured housing, as well as online land use mapping options.
