Scholarly Communication

This guide introduces key aspects of scholarly communication and directs you to resources and services that support publishing, sharing, and evaluating your scholarship.

What is Scholarly Communication?

Scholarly communication is the system through which research and creative work are created, evaluated, shared, and preserved. It includes decisions about where and how to publish, how to make work openly available, how to manage rights and reuse, and how to track the impact of scholarship over time.

At EMU, scholarly communication also includes the services and tools that support you in publishing, sharing, and sustaining your scholarship.
